He has had victories and losses, but his teams always come out on top. In 2000, Coach McCarthy embarked on his remarkable career, which set him on the path to success. From 2000 to 2004, he oversaw the offensive schemes of the New Orleans Saints, when his offences were mediocre at best. In 2005, he briefly served as offensive coordinator in San Francisco, where the offence was again lacking. But these failures just strengthened his will to achieve. Step One on the Path to Glory Mike McCarthy joined the Green Bay Packers as head coach in 2006. It was at this point that Coach McCarthy began to create something truly unique up north. Brett Favre was the starting quarterback for Mike McCarthy, and Aaron Rodgers was his youthful backup.
