Pittsburgh Steelers lose two key contributors for Chiefs game, including star cornerback
The Pittsburgh Steelers ruled out wide receiver Ben Skowronek and cornerback Joey Porter Jr. for their game against the Kansas City Chiefs.
Skworonek and Porter both suffered injuries against the Baltimore Ravens and in a short week, it was just too tough for both players to turn around and play four days later. They each tried to return to the game but were unable to finish it. Neither practiced this week but could try to return for the team’s game against the Cincinnati Bengals.
Skowronek missed nearly the entire first half of the season with a shoulder injury. He is back and has become a key punt gunner and blocker on the offense, working at wing, slot receiver, and fullback. Without him, the Steelers will turn to their other five wide receivers and use their tight ends to compensate for his missed blocking prowess.
