Tennessee Vols to loose another young talented star to the Transfer Portal….
Florida may end up being the final team for the former Tennessee Vols quarterback.
If you keep up with Tennessee football recruiting, you are likely aware that Harrison Bailey, a quarterback, was once a highly sought-after signee for the Vols. Bailey was the third-ranked pro-style quarterback in the country and a 4-star prospect when he graduated from high school.
However, his life in Knoxville did not turn out as everyone had expected. Before using the transfer site, he played for UT for two seasons. He played for Louisville this past season, filling in to help the Cardinals win their bowl game.
Bailey has returned to the portal in search of a new residence. Even while Vols fans are rooting for the young player, they won’t be supporting him if he plays for a rival SEC team, particularly the Florida Gators:
Former Tennessee QB Harrison Bailey is receiving interest from Florida and Billy Napier
In his two seasons with the Vols, Bailey tossed for 594 yards and two touchdowns. He later joined with UNLV, spending one campaign there. After that, he played for Louisville in 2023 and 2024. Bailey isn’t ready to bid collegiate football farewell just yet, as he has one more season of eligibility remaining.
Should he make his way to Gainseville, he’d be the backup quarterback behind freshman star D.J. Lagway. The Gators are in need of a new No. 2 signal-caller and Bailey would no question provide head coach Billy Napier with some experience behind his budding superstar.
It’s up in the air if an offer will be put on the table or not for the 6-5 QB, but depending on how his throwing session goes in front of the Florida staff, we may see Bailey signing with Tennessee’s rival. Florida would become the fourth program Bailey ends up playing for, which no one expected when he signed with the Vols as a part of the 2020 class.
