SAD NEWS: Nick Saban Former Alabama Coach is Gone…….

Nick Saban’s greatest regret as Alabama football coach

Nick Saban left his role as head coach of Alabama football almost five months ago. He left the position, although he continued to serve as an advisor for the Crimson Tide and accepted a position as an ESPN analyst.

He made his customary appearance at Greystone Golf and Country Club’s pro-am event on Wednesday before to the Regions Tradition. Before leaving, Saban answered questions from media and was asked what he missed most about his previous position.

“Player relationships,” stated Saban. “Tua (Tagovailoa) and Mark Ingram and I actually played golf together.” On Monday, I had them over and we played. There’s nothing better than the bonds you have with players, guy. But we will keep up those relationships since we love them all.

On Wednesday, Saban participated in the pro-am, playing 18 holes while donning his trademark straw hat. He was in the group led by Steve Strickler.

At Greystone, Saban signed autographs and posed for pictures with the crowd, just like he does every other year. He declared that the occasion remained one of his favorites, even after his retirement.

“Everything is the same,” stated Saban. “I strive to improve people’s feelings and make them feel happy. Though they don’t recall anything you say, they do recall how you make them feel. We should be able to cheer up a few people still.

Playing in the tournament was Kalen DeBoer, who replaced Nick Saban as Alabama’s head coach. The Crimson Tide’s matchup with Western Kentucky on August 31 will mark his debut game in the new role.
