OSU Softball: Star Fullerton Transfer Outfielder Commits to Cowgirls…
Oklahoma State University has secured another star transfer for the 2025 season, solidifying their roster with one of college softball’s top talents. On Saturday, former Fullerton outfielder Megan Delgadillo announced her commitment to OSU. Entering her sixth season of college softball, Delgadillo has established herself as one of the nation’s premier players during her tenure at Fullerton.
In 2024, Delgadillo was recognized as one of Softball America’s 100 best players and ranked among the 20 best outfielders. Her performance last season was nothing short of spectacular, boasting a batting average of .417, with 86 hits, 19 RBIs, and 49 runs scored. While she has only hit one home run in her career, Delgadillo’s offensive prowess is undeniable when she reaches base, having led Division I in stolen bases with 44 last season.
Her remarkable base-stealing ability earned her the prestigious NFCA Golden Shoe award in 2024. Delgadillo also made history by becoming the Big West’s all-time leader in stolen bases, amassing an impressive 151 stolen bases over five seasons.
Defensively, Delgadillo played in all 58 games last season, maintaining a stellar fielding percentage of .966. Her defensive skills, combined with her offensive capabilities, were instrumental in leading Fullerton to a Big West championship. Delgadillo’s efforts almost propelled Fullerton past Stanford in the NCAA Regional, narrowly falling 4-2 in the decisive game.
As one of the standout players in the conference, Delgadillo has earned spots on the All-Big West team in three of the past four seasons, including first-team selections in 2022 and 2024. Her consistent excellence on the field has made her a highly sought-after player.
OSU coach Kenny Gajewski has had a remarkable offseason in the transfer portal, bringing some of the nation’s best transfers to Stillwater. Delgadillo becomes the fifth incoming transfer for the Cowgirls, joining RyLee Crandall, Ruby Meylan, Megan Hathoot, and Amanda Hasler. Gajewski’s ability to attract top-tier talent highlights his commitment to building a championship-caliber team.
After making their fifth consecutive trip to the Women’s College World Series, the Cowgirls are poised to be strong contenders for the Big 12 title and aim to make another deep run in Oklahoma City next season. With Delgadillo’s addition, OSU’s lineup gains a dynamic player who can impact the game on both sides of the ball. Her speed, defensive prowess, and offensive consistency will undoubtedly elevate the Cowgirls’ performance.
As the 2025 season approaches, anticipation is high in Stillwater. The Cowgirls, bolstered by their new star outfielder, are ready to charge forward with renewed vigor, aiming for glory in the upcoming season. Fans eagerly await the thrilling moments that lie ahead, confident that OSU softball is on the path to greatness.
