Following a crushing defeat at the hands of Fabian Marozsan in his Miami Open debut, Holger Rune said he “should’ve pulled out.” Now that world No. 57 has defeated the sixth seed 6-1, Rune has disclosed why he wasn’t performing to his best.

Rune’s time on the court at the Miami Open was essentially over before it began, as he was only there for 59 minutes. The 20-year-old, who was one of the top seeds, received a bye into the second round and took on Marozsan, who had made his tournament debut in the first round.
As the 24-year-old had already defeated Carlos Alcaraz at the Italian Open the year before, upsets were nothing new to him. And he claimed another massive scalp after defeating World No. 7 in just two games. Rune won less than half of the points on his own serve, but Marozsan triumphed 6-1, 6-1, thanks to four aces.
