For a while now, Boston has had one of the top front offices in basketball. It appears that the greatest iteration of the Celtics has finally been constructed.
NBA Basketball Team: Boston Bruins
Throughout the playoffs, Boston demonstrated the versatility of their team, lead by standout players who are strong both defensively and offensively.
Boston has a potent 8-man rotation thanks to the rise of bench players like Sam Hauser and Payton Pritchard, who enhance the starting lineup.
The Celtics place a high value on players who can be counted on to perform well under pressure and make deep runs into the playoffs.
The Boston Celtics completed a 12-2 run through the Eastern Conference Playoffs and secured their second NBA Finals berth in the previous three seasons with yet another comeback victory over the Indiana Pacers. Boston only needs to win one more series to cement their legacy as one of the greatest teams in NBA history. They displayed every strength on their squad in the Conference Finals, overcoming Indiana.
The Celtics have been the league’s prototypical team in terms of consistently producing a winner since Jaylen Brown was selected in the 2016 NBA Draft. Even more successful and multi-title winning teams like the Golden State Warriors have been mired in NBA obscurity for a number of years. Boston, who has participated in two Finals, six Conference Finals, and won 73 postseason games throughout that time, is an exception to this rule.
However, the Celtics have faced unrelenting criticism for the last ten years due to their failure to secure the ultimate reward: an NBA Championship. Boston has been the target of jokes and is never counted on to win the championship, as opposed to being applauded for their yearly greatness.
They need four more victories to completely change that story.
