Former Virginia Tech OL Braelin Moore commits to LSU

In 2024, former Virginia Tech offensive lineman Bradley Moore, who committed to LSU through the portal, helped lead the Hokies’ rushing attack, which amassed over 2,000 yards in the regular season. Senior tailback Bhayshul Tuten led that rushing attack with 15 rushing touchdowns and nearly 1,200 yards in 11 games this season. Moore started at center for the Hokies the previous two seasons.

Moore’s ability to hold onto the center position was crucial, and the Virginia Tech offensive line’s skill is largely responsible for their achievement.

The On3 Industry Rankings, a proprietary system that aggregates evaluations and rankings from all four major recruiting media services, previously ranked Moore as a three-star recruit in the 2022 class. That cycle, he was ranked as the No. 35 interior offensive lineman and the 471st overall player.

After defeating in-state rival Virginia in the regular season finale, the Hokies ended the regular season with a 6-6 overall record. They ran for 202 yards and three touchdowns as a team during the game, easily defeating the Cavaliers 37–17.

On Friday, January 3, they will play Minnesota in the Duke’s Mayo Bowl. ESPN will broadcast the game live at 7:30 p.m. ET. The early favorites in the game are the Gophers.

Officially, the gateway opened on Monday, December 9, 2024. During the 2023–24 academic year, almost 2,800 FBS scholarship athletes registered their identities in the NCAA transfer database. The overall figure, after removing players who became pro or withdrew, was 2,707 transfers.

According to Pete Nakos of On3, this indicates that about 25% of all FBS scholarship players become free agents in a single year.
