In preparation for the 2025 NASCAR season, Spire Motorsports has strengthened their racing squad.

Matt McCall, a former crew chief of Brad Keselowski’s No. 6 at RFK Racing, joins the business as director of vehicle performance.

Jeff Dickerson, a co-owner of Spire Motorsports, stated, “This is a great addition for our team and one that means a lot to me, personally.” “As a lifelong buddy and one of my first few NASCAR clients as a young agent, Matt and I have always had similar perspectives on how race cars and race teams function. I’m glad that our paths have finally crossed, and I’m excited to welcome him to an already outstanding team for 2025.

Additionally, Dax Gerringer, who most recently worked with the No. 4 squad at Stewart-Haas Racing for the last nine years, has been taken on as technical director. He and Rodney Childers, who joined Spire Motorsports this offseason to take over as crew chief of the No. 7, are reunited by the contract.

“Being a part of the Spire family and helping this young race team gain momentum makes me feel honored and grateful,” Gerringer said. “What eventually drew me to Spire Motorsports was the environment Jeff Dickerson fostered with his race crew and the encouragement I received from management to take on the challenge of a new position. They emphasized that a terrific working environment is created when everyone pulls the rope in the same way.

“My objective is to join this talented group and bring the best product to the racetrack to elevate Spire Motorsports’ performance, having over 20 years of experience in the sport and 34 Cup Series victories.”

The three drivers for Spire Motorsports for the next season are Carson Hocevar, Michael McDowell, and Justin Haley. While Hocevar remains at No. 77 with Luke Lambert, McDowell and Travis Peterson will be on the No. 71, while Haley and Childers will be on the No. 7.

“I am truly thrilled and appreciative of this chance,” McCall remarked. The growth of Spirit Motorsports has been remarkable, and I’m excited to contribute to its success. I’ve known Jeff Dickerson for about twenty-five years, and we’ve had a lengthy friendship. He was doing driver representation when I first met him, and I was attempting to make a living as a driver. We developed a wonderful relationship and have remained in touch ever since.

Given how events transpired, there was a chance to visit Spire. The timing was perfect, and we had always wanted to collaborate. That played a significant role in my choice. It’s exciting to know what’s being constructed here and what the future holds.
