Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes Responds to Terrifying Injury During Bills vs. Dolphins Game

During the Bills vs. Dolphins game, Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes reacts to a terrifying injury.

On September 12, quarterback Patrick Mahomes of the Kansas City Chiefs looked to be watching the Bills vs. Dolphins Thursday Night Football game. He responded to Miami quarterback Tua Tagovailoa’s concussion in real time. In response to the injury, Mahomes posted on X, formerly known as Twitter, with an emoji of a string of praying hands.

Late in the third quarter of Miami’s 31-10 loss to Buffalo, the injury happened. Tagovailoa dropped back to throw, stepped up in the pocket, and then ran for the first down on a fourth-and-four play inside the Bills’ red zone. When Tagovailoa made contact with Bills safety Darmar Hamlin, his head was struck by Hamlin’s knee, causing Tagovailoa to snap back before it impacted the ground.

As the training crew hurried onto the field to assist Miami’s quarterback, Tagovailoa was clearly in pain on the field, and teammates started to take a knee.

Tagovailoa was later declared ineligible to play the rest of the game.
