Defenseman was selected 34th overall by Carolina in the 2024 NHL Draft.

In 33 SHL games with Malmo IF in 2023–24, Badinka, 18, recorded four points (1g, 3a), and he was one of just three defensemen in that age group.For all three seasons, Badinka will earn $775,000 in the National Hockey League (NHL) and $85,000 in the American Hockey League (AHL). In addition, $282,150 in signing incentives will be included in the agreement.
