Even for twenty-year-old Gauff, grand slam victories mean a great deal. “Yes, I would say that the number one goal or aspiration is to complete a singles Grand Slam,” he stated.
Gauff continues to rank needs according to his present hierarchy, ranking an Olympic gold medal higher than the top slot in the world.
“To be completely honest, I would much rather have an Olympic gold than the highest grade. First things first, a gold medal. I’m not sure about bronze or silver,” she added.
She also placed the Grand Slam in doubles fourth on her list.”And I feel like most people would agree with me on that,” Gauff says, suggesting that she believes a significant portion of tennis fans share her priorities.
