Savinho, a Brazilian winger, joins Manchester City for €40 million.
Savinho, a Brazilian winger, has been signed by Manchester City from Troyes in a move worth 40 million euros (£30.8 million).
The 20-year-old has given the team his all through 2029. Savinho made an impression while on loan at Girona the previous season, helping the team finish third in La Liga. Girona and Troyes are both affiliated with the City Football Group, which made it easier for Troyes to go to Manchester City.
Savinho declared, “City are now the best team in the world, and I am excited to work under Pep Guardiola, one of the greatest managers ever,” expressing his excitement at joining the Premier League winners. He went on to discuss his decision to sign with Manchester City and his first thoughts after doing so. “[Due to] all that I have witnessed thus far today. I told my stepfather and agent that I was not going to turn down Manchester City when I first arrived here this morning.
“I’m a Brazilian who wants to play on the front foot, to be happy, to play joyous football,” Savinho continued, describing his style of play. I enjoy playing one-on-one, contributing to the team, setting up assists, and scoring goals myself. My primary quality and my favourite thing to do is make people smile and entice them to get up from their chairs. Savinho, popularly called Savio, started his professional career with Atletico Mineiro in Brazil before moving to Troyes in the summer of 2022.
