JUST NOW: Chiefs Sign Wide Receiver (FRA) from……
The Kansas City Chiefs are the defending Super Bowl winners going into this season.
A squad that has previously won the Vince Lombardi trophy twice in as many seasons obviously can’t be improved upon, but even excellent things may grow better.
The Chiefs’ most pressing need, of course, was to add more talent and depth at wide receiver.
They took care of things by selecting Marquise “Hollywood” Brown and drafting Xavier Worthy, but they didn’t stop there.
In addition, they signed former New Orleans Saints wide receiver Kyle Sheets, according to a report by Chiefs Digest’s Matt Derrick.
Slippery Rock native Kyle Sheets, a rookie wide receiver, has signed with the Chiefs. His number is 29. The Chiefs now have 91 players on the roster.
Shortly after the NFL Draft, the Saints signed him as an undrafted free agent out of Slippery Rock; however, he was cut immediately following minicamp.
He will now complete the Chiefs’ 91-man roster.
Despite not being the most well-known player, Sheets have the physical attributes to be a good choice.
Standing at 6 feet 4 inches and 220 pounds, he was a dominant player in every game he played in.
He will obviously need to move up the depth chart, and with the Chiefs hoping to make the Super Bowl, there’s no guarantee he’ll even be on the squad come season’s end.
But, given that Rashee Rice’s career is still in jeopardy and that Skyy Moore, Kadarius Toney, and Justin Watson haven’t proven to be reliable offensive players, it’s possible that he will develop into another outstanding tale and a valuable member of a team that wants to make history.
