Theowner of Pittsburgh Steelers head coach’ offseason efforts notwithstanding, there are still gaps in several places on this team. Wide receiver is arguably the position where the Steelers still have the most need. The Steelers attempted to fill the vacuum left by Diontae Johnson’s trade during free agency, but wide receiver wasn’t given the same priority as quarterback and offensive line.

Now that training camp is just over a month away, wide receiver takes precedence, and it is imperative to decide who will start with Georg Pickens.

Right now, the most experienced candidate is most likely Van Jefferson. Roman Wilson, a rookie, is our favorite, but it makes sense that the Steelers view him primarily as a slot receiver.

There are still opportunities for free agency and trade, and to be honest, this is what we hope occurs. We think Wison has a lot of potential and that he can eventually start on the outside, but I’m not sure if that will happen this season.
