Breaking News: Billy Napier head coach of Florida Gators just announced his departure due………

In preparation for what is widely believed to be an extremely challenging 2024 schedule, Florida is expected to make changes to both its coaching staff and roster. This comes after the team’s dismal 5-7 performance in its second season under head coach Billy Napier, who dropped to 11-14 in Los Angeles.

The current No. 5-ranked 2024 high school class will provide a huge influx of true freshmen to the Gators, who will also be investigating their options through the NCAA transfer site, which yielded numerous players for them in 2023.

Ten transfers from the previous winter portal cycle, including former Wisconsin quarterback Graham Mertz, former Louisville defensive lineman Caleb Banks, former Memphis defensive lineman CamRon Jackson, former Ohio State linebacker Teradja Mitchell, former Michigan linebacker Deuce Spurlock, former Baylor offensive lineman Micah Mazzccua, former Alabama offensive lineman Damieon George, former Tulane running back Cameron Carroll, and former Houston linebacker Mannie Nunnery, committed to the Gators before the spring practice session started.

The Gators signed former FIU offensive lineman Lyndell Hudson, former Michigan safety RJ Moten, former Coahoma Junior College running back Jakobi Jackson, and former East Los Angeles College edge Quincy Ivory to their roster in the spring.

To make room for these recruits, Florida’s roster will have to see some severe attrition.

Swamp247 will keep an eye on Florida players that register on the NCAA transfer portal. The athletes listed below have either indicated that they want to use the portal or have shown up in the NCAA portal player database. Kindly remember this.

In the event that athletes decide to pursue a transfer, they have the option to enter their names into the NCAA transfer portal, an online database. The compliance office of the athletes’ current university typically complies with requests to have their name added to the portal within 48 hours. Coaches can search the database and contact any registered player, unless the athlete explicitly requests not to be contacted. This typically means that the athlete is aware of their destination already.

Players who did not have scholarships but used Florida’s roster to access the transfer portal will not be displayed below.
