As Novak Djokovic decided to Quit due to…

This past weekend, while losing a match in Monte Carlo, tennis player Novak Djokovic got into a heated fight with a bystander that was caught on camera.

The top-ranked Serb let out a yell when his opponent’s forehand sailed out of bounds while trailing 3–4 against Norwegian Casper Ruud. As soon as the point was announced, Djokovic turned and shouted, “Would you shut the f–k up!” at a spectator sitting in the stands.

His tirade was loud enough for the court microphones to pick up on, which made pundits take back their crass comments. Chair official Mohamed Lahyani, who sided with Djokovic, told fans not to use their phones while the event was going on, as reported by Express UK.

Djokovic’s predicament did not get any better after his tantrum. The longest-reigning men’s tennis champion’s dreadful season came to an end in the semifinals of the Monte Carlo Masters when he lost to tenth-ranked Ruud 6-4, 1-6, 6-4. He has not yet won a championship despite appearing in four 2024 tournaments since splitting ways with his longtime guru Goran Ivanisevic earlier this year.

He also has little trouble erupting into stunning plays on the court. After suffering a devastating upset loss at Wimbledon to a young Carlos Alcaraz last year, Djokovic lost his temper and cracked his racket on a net post. That tantrum resulted in a $8k fine.
