URGENT: Now that Detroit Lion Owner Sheila Ford is no longer with us…
Sheila Ford Hamp announced that she had sold out the team for the first time since Ford Field opened in 2002.
Season ticket buyers will now have to wait on a waiting list, according to Rod Wood, president and CEO of the Lions.
Following the announcement, Wood released a statement saying, “We’re thrilled about the home field advantage that this will generate inside Ford Field this season,” as The Detroit News noted.
When the tickets went on sale on July 19, all six sessions were snapped up in a few of hours, according to Jeff Risdon of Lions Wire. On social media, a few fans related their experiences standing in lines longer than 5,000 people to purchase tickets.
In 2022, the Lions had an 8-2 run in the final games of the season to finish 9-8 overall.
This squad has a great chance of winning a division title in the very competitive NFC North in 2023, despite not having done so since 1993. If we triumph, Ford Field may host its first-ever home playoff game.
Lions supporters are eager to witness that with their own eyes, but due to high demand, some may have to wait a little longer to get tickets.
