The people spoke under condition of anonymity because they were not allowed to disclose the financial terms of the agreement—which was still in the early stages of negotiation. Furthermore, the agreement guarantees $170 million.
Goff, who was paid less than Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow, who signed a $275 million, five-year deal extension last September, currently ranks second in the NFL in terms of average yearly value.
