Nikola Jokić recently declared that he would shortly be retiring
Despite not wanting to be, Nikola Jokic is among the most well-known NBA players in the world. Although Jokic’s preference for disappearing during the offseason is already widely known, the extent of his desire to do so has never been revealed.
During his guest appearance on Michael Porter Jr.’s Curious Mike podcast, Jokic shared his thoughts on being a superstar, his retirement plans, and his hopes for the future.
Jokic told Porter Jr., “Some people like being famous, some people don’t.” “When my career is over, I truly hope no one knows who I am. I hope for the finest future for my child or children. Recall me as your father. That seems like my life’s ambition.”
Like Kawhi Leonard, it appears like Jokic is content to be a basketball player and is not interested in becoming a superstar. He actually detests being a celebrity in every way.
“I really don’t like this life because, at the end of the day, we are just basketball players,” Jokic stated. Simply said, we excel at what we do. However, the media is a part of our surroundings, and we are naturally compensated for it due to our notoriety.”
Jokic has one unexpected, seemingly unachievable objective in mind for the future. Nikola Jokic desires to have no phone at all, whereas Kawhi Leonard does not use social media.
“To not have a phone, that’s another big goal of mine,” Jokic stated. “Just to live in the moment, be a normal person,” he stated. “Go drink with your buddy or go have lunch or go play with your kids or go ride horses, and nobody’s going to make a big deal of that.”
On the Curious Mike podcast, Jokic disclosed something really unique about himself; it was a moment that could only occur between two teammates. In the future, hopefully, he will reveal more of himself.
