The 2024 season opens with the Detroit Lions taking on the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday Night Football.

When Detroit defeated their former starting quarterback at Ford Field last season, they were able to win their first playoff game in decades.

When asked whether he had a message for the fans who had followed him for more than ten years, Matthew Stafford made news after the game by saying he was pleased for the players on the roster.

Naturally, during the game, the senior signal-caller was made fun of by Lions supporters.

He played with the Lions, although the team did not have much success in the playoffs. Recall that following Matt Patricia’s firing, Stafford made the decision that he wanted to leave Motown.

Stafford was traded to the Rams for quarterback Jared Goff and two first-round picks when the new administration took office.

There are now a number of discussions on how the organization and fans should react to Stafford’s first-ever return to Ford Field in a regular-season game.

A memorial video that the franchise is rumored to have produced is expected to be shown at some point during the game. Some argue that since Stafford only made three postseason appearances and lost all of his playoff games despite having one of the best wide receivers in the NFL in Calvin Johnson, there is no need to play the film.

When the Lions and Rams continue their intensifying rivalry, should the Lions create a tribute video?
