Patrick Mahomes confirms why he doesn’t talk to Harrison Butker
One of the most despised athletes in the NFL and on the internet since his contentious commencement address at Benedictine College is Harrison Butker of the Kansas City Chiefs.
Butker called the LGBTQ+ community a “deadly sin” and reminded the female graduates that being a “homemaker” was their most essential function during his speech.
Fans have now discovered an old video of quarterback Patrick Mahomes of the Kansas City Chiefs discussing Butker and their chilly relationship.
During his appearance on the Pat McAfee Show following the Chiefs’ Super Bowl victory in February, Mahomes disclosed that he doesn’t communicate with teammate Harrison Butker.
“To be honest, man, I don’t talk to Harrison at all during the year. Mahomes remarked, “I just let him do his thing.” “But I know that if I just manage to get over that 40, man, he’s going to put it through there.” I know you saw throughout the game that I gave up after feeling some pressure because I knew Harrison would make the play.
On the Pat McAfee Show, Mahomes reiterated that he doesn’t “say one word to him.”
Mahomes responded, “Only before the season and after the season.”
Regarding Butker’s contentious shift, the Chiefs have not responded. An online petition has been launched to remove Butker from the team. As of this writing, there have been more than 80,000 signatures on the petition.
With over 95% of his field goals made, Butker is among the league’s finest kickers. He also established the record for the longest Super Bowl field goal ever made.
