Billy Napier Head Coach Of Florida Gators, Just welcomed a New Baby
The SEC declared on Monday that the Florida Gators men’s basketball opponents for the 2024–2025 SEC season have been revealed.
The conference will have 16 teams instead of just 14, if Oklahoma and Texas from the Big 12 join.
Two of the six home-only opponents for the Gators are the Longhorns and the Sooners. It will be the first time in Oklahoma history that a state visits Florida, and it will be the first time Texas visits Gainesville since 1996.
Vanderbilt, Texas A&M, Ole Miss, and Missouri complete that group.
The six other teams make up Florida’s opponents on the road. Alabama, Arkansas, Auburn, Kentucky, Mississippi State, LSU, and Auburn are these.
According to UF men’s basketball SID Denver Parler, even though Kentucky is undoubtedly Florida’s biggest conference adversary, the Gators will only play Kentucky once this season for the first time since the 1963–1964 campaign.
The league opponents that the Gators play at home are South Carolina, Georgia, and Tennessee.
Georgia is on an 11-game losing streak against the Gators and has not defeated Florida since the 2018–2019 season, under the direction of former UF head coach Mike White. Last season, Florida defeated Georgia three times, the most recent being an 85-80 triumph in the SEC Tournament.
Last year, the Gators faced Tennessee and South Carolina once apiece, losing both games. It will be the first time Florida plays the Vols more than once since the 2020–2021 season and the first time Florida plays the Gamecocks more than once since the 2017–2018 season.
Each matchup’s dates, timings, and TV details will be revealed later.
